Pastoral Care

Happy and confident pupils

At Rookwood School pupils thrive in an environment where they are well known and cared for by staff, and where they feel happy and confident. The welfare and wellbeing of our pupils  underpin all aspects of school life, navigating the challenges of adolescence and helping them to make sensible and informed choices.

Pastoral care at Rookwood is optimal.

Pastoral Leads

Rookwood School has a designated Pastoral Leader, responsible pupil welfare, safety and wellbeing. Our Pastoral Leader offers a central liaison to families of Rookwood School providing an essential point of contact for families, school staff and senior leaders which ensure continuity in supporting our pupils – informed wrap-around care that truly nurtures every child and their needs.

“The Pastoral Care Team were beyond amazing and supported my daughter on a daily basis with her battle with severe anxiety.  Her confidence continues to grow, she has excelled at college, and is currently looking forward to starting university soon.”

The Rookwood Student Hub

The Hub is our designated safe space for pupils, which is run by our pastoral support leader. The Hub has been designed to support all students, offering advice, signposting professional agencies and being an ‘open door’ when school or home life can become overwhelming. The atmosphere in The Hub allows pupils to relax, chat and discuss any concerns they might have, and we know that pupils value this deeply.
