Year on year success
Rookwood School maintains a strong track record for exam success at GCSE and A Level and we are incredibly proud of every student that passes through Rookwood’s doors.
GCSE Results 2026
Our Year 11 students celebrated an excellent set of GCSE results in August, marking the culmination of years of hard work, determination and commitment.
A quarter of grades were awarded at grades 7–9, equivalent to the former A/A* grades, with 13% achieving the very highest grades of 8 or 9.
Headteacher, Mr Paul Robinson, said the results reflected not only the academic achievements of the students, but also the determination and resilience they have shown throughout their time at Rookwood.
The results mark an important milestone for Year 11 students, who have been supported throughout their final year to identify the right next step for them. As they move on to a range of leading sixth forms and colleges, each student leaves Rookwood ready to pursue a pathway that reflects their individual strengths, interests and ambitions.
We warmly congratulate all of students on their excellent achievements and wish them every success as they move forward in their education.
A Level Results 2026
Our recent Sixth Form students celebrated exceptional A Level results, with 60% of all grades awarded at A*- B, and 80% A – C with a 100% pass rate across all subjects.
Rookwood students further excelled in creative subjects including Fine Art, Textile Design and Photography, with 100% of grades awarded A* - A - an outstanding achievement and testament to the exceptional talent, creativity and dedication of the students and teachers.
Strong results were also achieved across the wider curriculum, including subjects such as Design & Technology and Geography; as well as the school’s vocational provision, with 100% pass rate at Distinction in BTEC Level 3 Sport.
In addition to these superb grades, our students achieved conditional offers for their university applications, meaning our students secured their first-choice university destinations.
Mr Robinson, Headteacher, said: ”We are incredibly proud of our students and all they have achieved. These results reflect not only their academic ability, but the determination, creativity and resilience they have demonstrated throughout their time at Rookwood.
“Our school motto, Sapere Aude – Dare to Know, encourages our students to be curious, to challenge themselves and to have the confidence to pursue their individual talents and ambitions. These results are a wonderful reflection of that spirit, with excellent achievements across academic, creative and vocational subjects. As our leavers take their next steps, we hope they continue to Dare to Know, embrace new opportunities and achieve more than they ever thought possible.”
