Gift and Talented

Gifted and Talented in Senior School

Our personalised and holistic approach to education at Rookwood School enables us to identify children with particular gifts and talents.

Personalised and holistic

Staff are well versed in differentiation strategies in the classroom to ensure every pupil is stretched and the more able, in any particular subject, are challenged. For those who also demonstrate a competitive streak, we encourage participation in competitions such as the UKMT Maths Challenge and the Oxford Maths Relay, as well as ensuring any budding county level players are connected to local sports clubs via our well respected PE department.

Inclusive stretch and challenge

Diverse enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom also provide learning and personal growth far beyond what many pupils initially thought were even possible. It is the Rookwood way to encourage all learners to discover their innate talents and to encourage everyone to move beyond their comfort zone which can become apparent in many aspects of school life. Therefore we have an inclusive approach, believing that every pupil is gifted in their own way.
