Rookwood School students have once again produced an excellent set of GCSE results.

We are delighted that, with our largest ever Year 11 cohort, we have maintained our high standards with 96% of students gaining five or more GCSEs at grade 4 or higher (equivalent to the old grade C).

We offer particular congratulations to Yaviin who achieved four 9s, four 8s, a 7, plus an A^ in Further Maths (an award only given to the top 5% of all of the Further Mathematicians in the country).  We also wish to congratulate Luke with three 9s, five 8s and a 7, Joe with four 9s, three 8s and a 7 and Erin who achieved two 9s, four 8s and two 7s.

Rookwood School achieved excellent results across all subject areas, especially in Science, where almost half (48%) of all grades were 7 or higher (equivalent to grade A or A*), ICT with 46% grade A or A*, and Music with an astounding 40% at the highest grade 9.

Anthony Kirk-Burgess, Headmaster, said “I am delighted with another bumper year of excellent GCSE results for Rookwood School.  This is down to the hard work of the students and their teachers, and a reflection of the school’s dedication to academic and pastoral excellence.

“Whilst I am thrilled with the high number of top grades, as a genuinely non-selective school, I am equally pleased for those students who, through hard work, determination and the guidance and support of their teachers, achieved those grades that they needed in order to open the next door in their learning.”

Congratulations to all of our Old Rooks.  We wish them every success in the next stage of their adventure.
