National Swimming Success

Three of our pupils recently competed at the ISA National Swimming Finals at the London Aquatic Centre, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, representing London West region.

Year 4 pupil Amelie was part of the junior girls’ team and won an individual Silver medal in the backstroke, knocking four seconds off her personal best time and Gold in the year 4 Freestyle relay.

Year 10 pupil Joshua and Year 8 pupil Xen both swam for the senior boys’ team. Xen competed in the Year 8 Freestyle relay, taking the Silver medal. Joshua won two individual Silver medals for his 100m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke and achieved a new personal record best time for his Freestyle.

The achievements didn’t stop there as the boys also won Gold medals in their Freestyle and Medley relays. Our pupils were delighted to be presented their medals by two great swimming Olympians – Joe Roebuck and Chris Walker-Hebborn.

Huge congratulations to Amelie,  Joshua and Xen on their brilliant performances and to the rest of the London West region team who won the competition with 90 points more than their closest rivals.
