Tours & Open Days

Experience Rookwood

The best way to find out more about Rookwood School is to experience it for yourself. We offer Open Days throughout the year as well as Taster Days for potential pupils to experience what life at Rookwood would be like for themselves. These are offered both on an individual basis or as a group.

We would also be happy to arrange a tour of the independent school on a day that suits you and offer 1:1 appointments to meet our Headteacher directly.

Open Events

Our Introduction to Reception event for 2026 entry will take place from 16.00 – 17.00 on Thursday 6th November. Learn more and book your place.

Our next School Open Morning will take place from 09.00 – 11.00 on Friday 27th February 2026. Click here to book a place.

Taster Days

If you’ve decided that you would like to consider Rookwood School for your child, we would love to offer a Taster Day. Our Taster Days give your child the chance to see what it would be like to be part of the Rookwood family and experience the school, meet staff and interact with their fellow pupils for themselves. Please register your interest for future Taster Days.

TASTER DAYS

Each year, we run a series of Taster Days for pupils interested in joining Rookwood School into Year 7. Please see below for details about each event

  • Year 7 2026 Entry Taster Day on Thursday 16th October 2025. During this visit, pupils spend the day as a Rookwood pupil, getting a real taste of the curriculum and classroom environment. As part of the day, they complete baseline assessments in reading and maths. These are not used for selection, but rather to give us a clear picture of each child’s current level so we can best support them from the outset. Places can be booked here.
  • Year 7 2027 Entry Taster Day in May 2026. The day is designed to help pupils familiarise themselves with the school layout, building, staff, and their peers in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Highlights include interactive team-building activities and an engaging challenge in the afternoon. Please note, there are no formal assessments or lessons—just a day focused on settling in and having fun!

Family Day

Rookwood School’s Family Day is when the whole Rookwood Family gather to celebrate the school’s successes that academic year.  We have limited spaces for external families to join us by invitation only.  Please register your interest for our next Family Day.
