Independent School in Hampshire

Our School is a happy and thriving learning environment for children aged 6 months to 18 years. At the centre of our ethos is strong pastoral care, where each individual is treated with respect and dignity.

At Rookwood your child is encouraged to think and to question for themselves, allowing them to flourish from a very young age right through to sixth form.

Our school motto is ‘Sapere Aude’ which can be translated as ‘dare to know’ or ‘have courage to understand’ and it certainly captures the essence of our identity as a school.

Nursery School

Our youngest children begin their intrepid learning journey in Little Rooks, a happy, peaceful and nurturing setting. The early years are so important, as they provide the foundation for life; not just academically but socially and emotionally. We pride ourselves at Rookwood on developing the whole child within a stimulating learning environment, supported by caring staff dedicated to giving children the best start in education.

Prep School

Our Prep School is small enough to ensure that each child is known to all members of staff and is valued as an individual. We know their likes and dislikes, what their strengths are and how we can best support them on their academic journey. Our children are encouraged to take advantage of the countless opportunities presented to them and to grow as individuals academically, socially and emotionally.

Sixth Form

Our newly launched sixth form offers superb levels of support, both in and out of the classroom. Small class sizes, supportive clinics and excellent teaching maintain an environment where each student is able to be the best that they can be academically.

Alongside our excellent pastoral care, our proactive approach to tracking, monitoring and communications provides a safety-net for all our students. Our sixth form offers flexibility and variety, with a guaranteed choice from a range of 24 A-levels.

Boarding

Boarding at Rookwood is a unique experience and is refreshingly different from traditional boarding.  Our boarding houses are very much ‘homes from home’, which provide a secure and familiar environment to enjoy being with friends and make use of the school facilities for evening activities.  With excellent adult:child ratios, our houseparents get to know each boarder as an individual, providing the strong pastoral care for which Rookwood boarding is renowned.
