Sixth Form
As an independent Sixth Form, we offer a guaranteed combination of subjects, small class sizes, excellent pastoral support, and a genuinely individualised approach to learning.
Rookwood opened its Sixth Form in September 2021 and maintains Rookwood’s emphasis on having small class sizes, based on an understanding that young people achieve their best results when they are known and treated as individuals.
Rookwood Sixth Form students benefit from flexible, tailor-made support, expert teaching and significantly more contact hours per week than they could expect from state provision. Close links with the rest of the school allow all sixth form students, not just a chosen few, to show their leadership qualities and set themselves apart from the crowd.
Our independent Sixth Form offers students the potential to follow a truly integrated model of education, with Rookwood being the only through school in the Andover area, allowing us to support students throughout their school career.
For students that join Rookwood for Sixth Form, they will benefit from small classes, excellent pastoral support and a genuinely individualised approach to learning.
Independence both academically and socially will be developed during the course of sixth form studies and enrichment activities. It is vital for A Level students to have extensive support in and out of the classroom: Rookwood sixth form students can expect five hours of weekly teaching per subject, daily contact with their form tutor, and bespoke mentoring to ensure that they stand out as an excellent candidate for whatever opportunities they pursue as adults. Our sixth form students will complete their time at Rookwood as organised, self-reliant learners, because we will help them develop the skills to become such.
Rookwood Sixth Form students have access to space and time away from the rest of the school in our Sixth Form Centre that offers a dedicated study and socialising area including a study room, lounge, kitchen facilities and entertainment.
