Nursery Curriculum

A Wholesome Balance of Learning & Development

Our caring specialist nursery teachers are knowledgeable, skilled and experienced in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for children aged between two to four years old,  providing a great introduction for your child’s education at Rookwood School. Daily activities are planned to foster the three prime areas of childhood development: personal, social and emotional development, communication and language development, and the physical development of your child. We pride ourselves on providing a wholesome balance of these areas so that your child feels valued for their unique contribution to the community no matter what stage of development they begin school life with.

Learning through Safe Exploration

Our children learn in a supported exploratory way that nurtures participation, fun and independence, with teachers offering creative ways to introduce literacy, mathematics, world exploration, and the expressive arts and design. Additionally, during our morning sessions, the children also enjoy extra learning activities such as French, Dance and PE with specialist teachers that slowly introduces them to other parts of the school so that they feel familiar, connected and confident in the school environment and confident to follow their joy and interests that emerge as they discover themselves and their interests.
