As we reflect on the term, we are immensely proud of our community’s collective efforts to support those in need. Here are a few highlights of the impactful ways our Rookwood family has made a difference:
Harvest Festival Generosity:
A heartfelt thank you to all the families who generously contributed to Rookwood School’s Harvest Festival collection. The fabulous display of donations were warmly received by the Andover Foodbank, making a significant impact on the lives of local families.
Year 10s Visit to Andover Foodbank:
In November, eight students from Year 10 demonstrated the spirit of giving by visiting the Andover Foodbank. They gained firsthand insights into the operations, witnessing how every donated item is meticulously weighed. The students learned about the Foodbank’s eight-tonne deficit this year, which necessitated purchases to meet the demand.
In the Christmas hamper packing area, our students passionately engaged in their mission. Working diligently, they packed hampers for single individuals, families, and large families, ensuring each was filled with the right essentials. Their efforts left a lasting impression on the Andover Foodbank staff, who were not only pleased with the quantity but also rushed to replenish supplies to keep up with our students’ hard work.
Little Rooks Nursery’s Rudolph Run:
The spirit of giving extended to our Little Rooks Nursery children, who embarked on a special sponsored ‘Rudolph run’ this month. Navigating the muddy fields with determination, our littlest learners raised valuable funds for The Countess of Brecknock Hospice.
As we continue to nurture the value of giving and supporting others, we look forward to more opportunities to make a positive impact in the lives of others in the terms to come. Thank you to all who have contributed to the spirit of giving at Rookwood School.
