Rookwood Sixth Form is delighted to confirm another excellent set of A-level results following the launch of its Sixth Form in September 2021. Non-selective at entry, the Sixth Form offers a diverse range of A-level choices to cater to the broad aspirations of our students. We are pleased to share that 47% of grades achieved were between A and C.
Commenting on the results, Acting Head, Mrs Jennifer Jellard, said: “I am delighted with this year’s achievements, which are a testament to the dedication of both our students and teachers over the past two years. These results highlight our continued commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically accomplished but also equipped with the skills and confidence to excel in their chosen paths.”
One of our standout students, Olivia, achieved an A in both Fine Art and Textile Design. Olivia worked incredibly hard to manage her two portfolios and has made fantastic progress during her time at Rookwood. She will begin her Art Foundation course this September. Commenting on her results, Olivia said: “I’m so happy with my results and am so grateful to all the staff at Rookwood for their support throughout the past two years. I’m really excited about what the future holds for me.”
Olivia’s mother, Nikki, also expressed her pride: “We have been thrilled with Olivia’s growth throughout her time in Sixth Form. She was quite shy at first, but the experience has really brought her out of her shell. Today’s results show just how much she has excelled over the past two years.”
A-level student Dan managed to secure a place at Cardiff University to study Marine Geography. Dan remarked, “I’m sad to leave Rookwood but I’m excited about moving on to bigger things.”
Max, another A-level student who will be studying Computer Science at University of Winchester, shared his reflections on his time at Rookwood Sixth Form. Having joined Rookwood in Year 8, Max decided to stay for Sixth Form due to the strong support from his teachers. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in Sixth Form,” Max shared. “The Sixth Form Centre has been great, and I particularly enjoyed the enrichment programme, which gave me the chance to explore new opportunities.”
It has been a privilege to support our six students through their Sixth Form journey at Rookwood. Whether they joined us for A-levels, GCSEs, or have been with us since primary school, all have made significant progress both personally and academically. They truly embody the Rookwood ‘Dare to Know’ ethos.
With a variety of future plans, including university, apprenticeships, music performance, and work, we wish them every success in the next chapter of their journey.
