Our Values

Our pupils dare to know

At Rookwood School, our pupils are encouraged to question, to explore and to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

We achieve this through our ASPIRE values that provide the guiding principles of everything we do.

ASPIRE values

Ambitious – challenging pupils to have the courage to take risks with their learning, learn new things, develop new skills and deepen their understanding to maximise success, reflecting our school motto – “Sapere Aude” – Dare to Know.

Safe – providing a healthy, safe and secure environment for everyone to learn and develop their individual self, as well as keeping others safe in our community.

Personal Growth – stimulating independence, problem solving skills and resilience with focus on the individual in a supportive educational experience.

Integrity – developing the skills to embrace life challenges through the development of character, calibre and courtesy.

Responsibility – supporting others in our Rookwood community, inspiring a greater understanding of the world around us and our impact on charity, community and the Earth. Creating future citizens in a rapidly changing global environment.

Emotional wellbeing – developing the ability to successfully handle life’s stresses and adapt to change, building self-esteem and healthy coping strategies.
