Rookwood School maintains a strong track record for exam success at GCSE level and we were delighted to see the results from our first A level cohort in August 2023.
GCSE Results 2024
Rookwood School is delighted to share another excellent year of GCSE exam results that reflect the school’s commitment to providing a highly supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive regardless of their starting point.
Students achieved grades well above the national average, with 97% of students achieving five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and Maths. We are delighted that 36% of our grades were at Grade 7 or above, compared to a UK national average of 21.8%. With 93% of all grades at Grade 4 or above, compared to a national average of 67.6%, we are delighted with the progress of all students.
Commenting on this year’s results, Mrs Jennifer Jellard, Acting Head at Rookwood School, said, “As a non-selective school, we are always delighted with the progress our students make during their time at Rookwood. Students develop their skills both academically and more broadly through their extra-curricular activities.

A Level Results 2025
Rookwood School is proud to celebrate another outstanding year of A Level success.
43% of grades were at A*-A
57% at A*-B
100% pass rate across all subjects
Standout results include:
English, EPQ & Religious Studies – 100% A*-A
Geography – 100% A*
Economics – 100% A*-B
Our students secured conditional offers for 96% of their university applications, with the majority achieving their first-choice destinations.
Headteacher Mr Robinson said: “We are immensely proud of this year’s cohort. Their hard work, resilience and determination have been inspiring, and these results are a fitting reward. We wish them every success in the exciting journeys ahead.”
Among the many success stories, Elysia is heading to Bangor University to study Marine Biology, Lara to the University of York to read English, and Jake to Cardiff University to study Economics.
With students moving on to leading universities and diverse pathways, Rookwood continues to combine academic excellence with exceptional pastoral care, inspiring pupils to Dare to Know and achieve beyond expectations.
