Year on year success
Rookwood School maintains a strong track record for exam success at GCSE level and we were delighted to see the results from our first A level cohort in August 2023.
GCSE Results 2024
Rookwood School is delighted to share another excellent year of GCSE exam results that reflect the school’s commitment to providing a highly supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive regardless of their starting point.
Students achieved grades well above the national average, with 97% of students achieving five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and Maths. We are delighted that 36% of our grades were at Grade 7 or above, compared to a UK national average of 21.8%. With 93% of all grades at Grade 4 or above, compared to a national average of 67.6%, we are delighted with the progress of all students.
Commenting on this year’s results, Mrs Jennifer Jellard, Acting Head at Rookwood School, said, “As a non-selective school, we are always delighted with the progress our students make during their time at Rookwood. Students develop their skills both academically and more broadly through their extra-curricular activities.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our students for their outstanding achievements and thank our dedicated staff and supportive community for their unwavering commitment to Rookwood’s success.”

These results highlight our continued commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are not only academically accomplished but also equipped with the skills and confidence to excel in their chosen paths.”
Highlights include Olivia’s A in both Fine Art and Textile Design, Dan’s acceptance to Cardiff University to study Marine Geography, and Max’s acceptance to University of Winchester to study Computer Science.
