Last week, Reception class were busy with creativity as they combined art, maths, and design in their activities.
In Maths lessons, the pupils focused on identifying and naming shapes. Inspired by the famous artist Kandinsky and his use of shapes in art, they created their own stunning interpretations using circles and triangles. The results were vibrant and imaginative, showcasing how well the pupils could bring mathematical concepts to life through art.
The creativity didn’t stop there. As part of their ongoing topic on Toys, where they’ve been exploring both old and new toys, the pupils faced a fun design challenge: to create their very own hand puppet. The results were very impressive, with the pupils crafting characters like Elsa, a lovable Sloth, and the energetic Super Striker.
To top it all off, the Puppet Theatre provided the perfect stage for the pupils to showcase their handmade puppets. Their performances brought the puppets to life, combining storytelling, imagination, and a whole lot of fun.
