Rookwood sixth form students continue to play a significant role in school life, developing their leadership skills while continuing their A level studies. They are leading a badminton club for senior school students, participate in lunchtime clubs and run the tuck shop one day per week. For enrichment this half term they have been volunteering around school, supporting the teaching of hockey to year 8 students and working in the maths department. This follows half a term of university cooking where the students went to the supermarket, purchased carefully costed ingredients and cooked healthy, filling food.
The sixth form are also starting to prepare for university applications and visited the UCAS Exhibition in London with Mrs Jellard (Head of Sixth Form). With talks on how to apply to university and writing personal statements, plus over 160 universities exhibiting it was the ideal opportunity to meet some of the admissions teams and narrow down the lists of universities being considered.
