About Rookwood

At Rookwood, we are proud to offer an international boarding experience rooted in care, community, and opportunity. Our school welcomes boarding students aged 8–16 from across the globe, offering them not only a strong British education, but a sense of belonging that lasts far beyond their time here.

A values-led approach

At Rookwood, we believe that character matters. That’s why we welcome students who share our values of compassion, curiosity, and courage, no matter their background or academic history. Our mission is to inspire all in our community to dare to know and to be the very best version of themselves. We do this by embedding a culture of kindness, happiness, and success in every aspect of school life.

Our aim is simple: to develop kind, confident, and successful young people who are ready to make a positive difference in the world. Discover more about Rookwood by watching our short video.

Pathway to academic success

Rookwood offers a broad and engaging academic programme, grounded in the British education system. Students follow a well-structured pathway through their GCSEs and are supported by specialist teachers who are passionate about their subjects.

With small class sizes and a focus on individual progress, we ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve their best. Independent thinking, intellectual curiosity, and academic confidence are all actively encouraged.

We understand that adjusting to life in a new country – and a new language – can be daunting. Rookwood offers tailored English as an Additional Language (EAL) support for international students who need it.
