A Proud GCSE Results Day!

Our Year 11’s celebrated excellent GCSE results, marking the culmination of years of hard work, determination and commitment.

A quarter of grades were awarded at grades 7–9, equivalent to the former A/A* grades, with 13% achieving the very highest grades of 8 or 9.

Among those celebrating is Oliver Woods, whose results included an outstanding five grade 9s. Oliver will now continue his studies at St Gabriel’s College, where he plans to take Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry, with ambitions to pursue a future career in science and chemistry.

Oliver said: “I’m incredibly happy with my results. I worked so hard for them, so to see that hard work pay off feels amazing. I’m really looking forward to what’s next!”

Leo Walker-Lloyd also achieved an excellent set of results, including 8s and 9s, and will be continuing his education at Peter Symonds College, where he plans to study Biology, Geography and Chemistry.

Leo said: “I’m really pleased with my results! I’m looking forward to starting my A Levels and continuing with subjects that I really enjoy.”

Headteacher, Mr Paul Robinson, said “We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and everything they have achieved. These results are testament to their hard work and the support and encouragement of their families and our dedicated teaching staff. Today is a wonderful example of Rookwood’s school motto – ‘Dare to Know’ – in action. Our students have dared to challenge themselves, worked tremendously hard and should feel enormously proud of what they have achieved.

“Most importantly, these results open the door to an exciting range of next steps. We wish every one of our students the very best as they move on to their chosen colleges and the next chapter of their education.”

The results mark an important milestone for Rookwood’s Year 11 students, who have been supported throughout their final year to identify the right next step for them. As they move on to a range of leading sixth forms and colleges, each student leaves Rookwood ready to pursue a pathway that reflects their individual strengths, interests and ambitions.
