Rotary Young Writer success for Rookwood students

Young Writer competition participants
Rookwood School had a fantastic evening at this year’s Rotary ‘Young Writer’ presentation, held at Andover’s Guildhall. With 28 outstanding creative writing entries submitted, we were thrilled to have five students selected as finalists – a remarkable achievement!
The competition, which invited students to craft poetry or prose around the theme of ‘Wonderful Water’, saw some truly imaginative and evocative pieces. Congratulations to all students who participated, and a special well done to our finalists and winners:

Esme’s beautifully written prose won her the John Ray Cup as the overall winner, and both Esme and Leo’s winning entries will now progress to the district finals.
The Mayor and Mayoress presented certificates to all finalists, and the judges were highly impressed by the quality of writing submitted this year. A huge well done to everyone involved!
