Celebrating a Term of Victories

As we approach the end of a remarkable term at Rookwood School, we take immense pride in celebrating the numerous achievements of our pupils across all year groups, from Nursery to Sixth Form. The dedication, talent, and sportsmanship displayed by our pupils have been truly outstanding.

Sports Excellence: Year 10 Netball Champions: Our Year 10 girls showcased their prowess in the first Netball fixture of the season against Lee Hurst Swan School, securing a remarkable victory with a scoreline of 17-11.

Badminton Brilliance: A special congratulations to Henry in Year 9, who achieved third place in the mixed doubles, boys’ doubles, and boys’ singles at the U14 Hampshire County Trials. Henry’s outstanding performance has earned him a place in the prestigious Hampshire County Squad.

Musical Triumph: Year 9 pupil Bertie left us all in awe as he performed with the County Band. His move to the senior band is a testament to his musical talent, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Football and Netball Victories:
Our Year 7 and 8 pupils demonstrated dominance against Leehurst Swan School with resounding victories in Netball (7-0) and Football (6-0).

The Year 9 Football Team kicked off their season in style, securing a comprehensive 5-2 victory against The Clere School. The team not only displayed exceptional skill but also showcased remarkable team spirit.

Year 7 pupils displayed tactical brilliance in a netball match against The Wellington Academy, securing a brilliant 14-1 victory.

Artistic Achievements:
Two of our exceptionally talented students, Olivia T (Sixth Form) and Phoebe R (former Year 11 student), were awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the regional round of the Independent Schools Association Art Competition. Their creative works truly stand out. View photos here.

Drama and LAMDA Success:
Pupils who received LAMDA certificates showcased outstanding results, with an impressive 90% achieving distinctions. Head of Drama, Mrs. Blackmore, commended their dedication, emphasising the hard work put in by each pupil.

Swimming Success:
In the Independent Schools Association London West Regional Swimming Gala, two pupils from Prep School, Isabel and Rafi, displayed enthusiasm and talent. Isabel achieved personal best times, and Rafi secured a remarkable 3rd place in her heat.

Basketball Triumphs:
Year 5 and 6 pupils emerged victorious in the Andover and District 3v3 Basketball Festival at Harrow Way School, winning all seven matches against teams from Anton, Clatford, Vigo, and Portway. Their teamwork, great baskets, and sportsmanship earned them the Respect Award.

As we reflect on these accomplishments, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our pupils who have contributed to making this term one filled with triumphs, growth, and memorable moments. We look forward to more successes in the coming terms. Well done, everyone!
