We were delighted to welcome a record number of prospective families to Rookwood for our recent Open Morning. The event provided an opportunity to showcase our school, the curriculum and the many opportunities available to our pupils. I have, however, always believed that what truly distinguishes our school is our wonderful people.
Throughout the morning, the warmth of our community and the genuine hospitality extended to visitors were clear to see. Our pupils were exemplary, speaking with confidence, enthusiasm and sincerity, and representing everything that makes Rookwood such a fantastic school. The feedback from visiting families was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the happiness of our pupils and staff, the positive relationships they observed and the sense of belonging throughout the School. These are not qualities that can simply be switched on for an Open Morning. They are developed carefully over many years through the nurturing of relationships, the consistent modelling of values and the everyday interactions that shape our sense of community. Equally important is the enjoyment we share in working with young people, something I see reflected in the laughter, enthusiasm and positive working relationships across Rookwood every day.
My sincere thanks go to our pupils, colleagues and all our families for making Rookwood a community of which we can all be very proud!
