Rookwood pupils have been enjoying a brand-new Food Technology room, newly located within our Science and Art Blocks so that our creative and practical subjects can sit together at the heart of this busy part of the School.
The new space provides pupils with a welcoming, purpose-built environment in which to develop their cooking skills, confidence and creativity. Head of Food Technology, Mrs Kidd, is delighted with the new room and the opportunities it offers pupils to learn through practical, hands-on lessons.
It has already brought a new atmosphere to the corridors too, with the delicious smells of apple crumble and freshly baked brownies drifting through the building as pupils put their skills into practice.
By bringing Food Technology alongside Art, Science, Textiles and Design Technology, the new space creates an exciting hub for creativity, experimentation and learning – and we are looking forward to seeing, and tasting, what our pupils create next!

The new Food Technology room is a wonderful addition to Rookwood’s facilities and reflects our commitment to giving pupils opportunities to learn in different ways, develop practical life skills and discover new interests.
