The festive season was brought to life on Thursday 12th December, as our Prep School Choir paid a heart-warming visit to our neighbours at Andover Nursing Home. The talented young singers delighted the residents with a selection of Christmas classics, creating a joyful and memorable afternoon.
Under the direction of Mrs Parsons, Head of Performing and Creative Arts, and Mrs Nias, Assistant Head of Prep School, the choir performed a medley of holiday favourites, encouraging residents to sing along and dance in their chairs. The festive repertoire included beloved tunes such as Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, which brought smiles and laughter to everyone present.
Commenting on the occasion, Mrs Parsons said: “It was a privilege to see our pupils spreading so much joy to the residents of Andover Nursing Home. Events like these remind us of the power of music and community, especially during the holiday season. I’m incredibly proud of our pupils for their enthusiasm and the warmth they brought to this special occasion.”
Both the residents and the care home staff thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, with the music bringing an undeniable festive spirit to the room.
Mrs Nias added: “The choir has worked so hard to prepare for this performance, and I’m thrilled that their efforts brought such joy to our community. Moments like this embody the spirit of Christmas.”
The visit concluded with a rousing rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas, as pupils exchanged festive greetings with the residents.
