To mark Comic Relief 2021, students from Reception to Year 11 were challenged to take part throughout the week in a whole school egg and spoon challenge.
Students were asked to bring something red whilst carrying an egg and spoon for at least five laps of the sports hall or 500 metres outside to try and collectively hit 100km!
Amazingly students walked more than 150km with their egg and spoons and have raised £275 for Comic Relief whilst doing it!
Mr Mills said “The challenge of completing 100km as a whole school was as much about students having to contribute as individuals but also working together as a collective. To see all of our students from Reception class to Year 11, taking part in a challenge to raise money for those in need was an amazing sight.
At Rookwood we have an ethos where we are one ‘Rookwood Family’ and I believe that was embodied in the whole school effort this week. Each and every student should be proud of their efforts as we travelled a long way past the 100km mark together. A huge well done to our students”.
Well done to the Rookwood Family!
